Mark 9:23 “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

We had the opportunity this weekend to work in Florida.  The area was beautiful and full of beautiful people.  The part of our job we love most is meeting people we might not have otherwise met.  On Sunday afternoon, we sold a simple amazonite bracelet to a married couple. She wanted to wear it out, which is always a compliment.  At that point, the husband said, “She has a lot of them, but they all mean something”.

I took the opportunity to witness to her about miracles and our two sons.  I said, “If they all mean something, then can ours be a reminder to pray for our son Brody?”  I told them that he has Fragile X and Autism.  They said, “Of course!” and wanted to know more.  I took the opportunity to tell them about a dinner conversation we had recently.  Our older son told us that he had been praying for many years for Brody to have a miracle.  This was a conversation we have had many times.  I am embarrassed to say that I had stopped having the faith of a child and believing in a miracle for him.  I felt like the miracle came when we found a group home that made him so happy. I didn’t know that all this time our older son still believed for a miracle.

I asked this couple to believe with me, and that every time she wore the bracelet she would pray for Brody. What a simple way to share the love of God and pray for the good news that would change our lives!  I listened and became still enough to hear the still small voice of God this weekend.  I learned that childlike faith is available to us if we will just believe.

Believe with me and our son Ian that his brother could have a miracle healing this side of heaven.  When you see God’s presence and ask Him to intervene in your circumstances, you can see miracles happen.

Acts 3:16 “By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.  It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.”

Jeremiah 32:27 “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
