“Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord.” Psalms 27:14
Are you waiting for God to answer a specific prayer? Have you felt like it has been one of the most difficult things to do? In your waiting have you grown impatient or bitter?
Waiting is so difficult!! I wonder sometimes why we find it so hard to wait, when we know that God is faithful?
Maybe it is because of our “microwave mentality” or the fact that we live in a technological age. We tend to think that the process should be as fast as cooking a hot pocket, but the Lord has other ideas.
If we really received everything immediately, would we really appreciate it? I know that the Lord knows what is best for us and that His timing is always perfect. Matter of fact in Isaiah 55:8-9 it says:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
We can always trust God during our season of waiting no matter how difficult it is!
I believe that it is in the process of waiting that we grow the most. Think about a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, if it didn’t have to go through a season of waiting and struggle, it would never be the beautiful thing that it is.
Maybe it’s the struggle.
That helps us grow.
Maybe it’s the prayer.
That makes us stronger.
Maybe it’s trusting.
That builds our faith.
Maybe it’s all part of the process of making us more like Christ.
While we wait, may we be seeking the Lord. May we be serving and reflecting His love. May we be dying more to self and living more for Him.
I pray that during our seasons of waiting, that we rest in knowing that the Lord is present and working all things for our good and his glory!!
In Christ Alone,
