“A wife (woman) of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.” Proverbs 31:10
If you’ve filled out any financial forms lately, you may have been asked to provide your net worth. Men think dollars, but women often find their worth harder to estimate. I mean, how can you really put a price on someone whose value is far above rubies?
But, do we really feel as priceless as a Proverbs 31 woman?
Those who haven’t received the love of God, the grace of Jesus, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit strive to inflate their assets by working harder, looking better, or knowing more than their peers. Talent, perfection, and prestige become tethered to self-worth. In the losses column, however, circumstances and comparisons make hefty withdrawals.
If you’re like me, your heart may need an occasional reminder that you are God’s special possession, created to be successful in loving God and other people – even when they act human.
