JESUS LOVE ME; THIS I KNOW

Recently, I began to think about this little hymn I learned as a child.  I sang it many, many times to my two children when they were small and then to my grandson when he came along.   Probably you have sung this to your children and grandchildren too.

There is so much power in these words.  These words give us life, hope, peace, joy, love, and assurance.  Jesus has an amazing love for everyone.  No matter who we are, no matter the color of our skin, and no matter what we have done in our life, He loves us.  He loves us when we make smart choices and when we make bad choices.  He loves us more than we will ever comprehend.

It is hard for many to accept His love.  Many people think they are unlovable and no one will ever love them.  However, God’s word says in Psalm 86:15

“But you, my Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy; you are very patient and full of faithful love.”

God is faithful to love us.  His love is powerful.  It is fulfilling and brings peace that passes all understanding.  1 Chronicles 16:34 says,

“Give thanks to the Lord because He is good, because His faithful love endures forever.”

We must open our hearts to Him and know He is with us.   John 10:10 says,

“I am come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.”  

Today as you walk through your day, sing this little song and let the love of God fill you up.   Jesus loves you; this I know!
