Three funerals in twelve days! A sixty-two-year-old lifelong childhood friend, a fifty-year-old lady that was my dear cousin, and a beautiful nineteen-year-old girl that had attended my church for the last six years.

As I thought about these three beautiful souls, I could not help but wonder what it was like when they made their move to heaven. Was there a brilliant light? Was there a beautiful garden? Did they see streets of gold? Did they spot the river of life? Were there many mansions? Did they see the men and women that God used mightily in Bible days? Did they have loved ones that had gone on before meet them and escort them through heaven’s gates?

We have heard heaven described in these ways, but I can only imagine what it was like when each one saw their Savior, Jesus Christ, for the first time. I can only imagine that first embrace with the one they were serving when they left this world. I can only imagine the joy they felt in His arms as all sorrow and tears were gone forever. I can only imagine the eternal peace that filled them. I can only imagine the praise that filled each soul. I can only imagine the beautiful love they felt from the one that gave His life for them. I can only imagine the joy they experienced when He said, “Welcome Home.”

Life is but a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. Please prepare your heart to make this journey at your appointed time. Prepare to meet your Savior.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish and have everlasting life.”

John 14:6: “Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one goes to the Father except by me.”
