One of my favorite go-to scriptures is Isaiah 41:10. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
When I was a child, I was the opposite of bold. In fact, I was very shy. I sat in the back of the classroom, hoping to go unnoticed by the teacher. One of my biggest fears was to be called on in class and to answer the question incorrectly. The thought of my classmates laughing was almost more than I could bear. As I matured, I realized it was inevitable that I would have to get over this fear. I would have to get over feeling condemned and hurt and boldly push through all my anxious thoughts.
I am so thankful that there is no condemnation in Christ. When I make a mistake, sin, or fall short, I can run to my heavenly father and ask for his help and forgiveness. Life can be overwhelming and scary at times, but God doesn’t want us living in fear. He wants us to rely on him as our helper, our refuge, and our strength.
Another one of my favorite scriptures is Isaiah 40: 29–31, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
This passage is so powerful. When we call on the name of the Lord, He is there to give us strength, power, and hope. The Lord gives us all these things. So, this scripture reminds me we are to live boldly for Christ. We are to pray bold prayers. We are to share the gospel with boldness. We are to love boldly, all the things we do, we should do it with boldness.
God’s Word reminds us that we are more than conquerors in Christ. That truth should fire us up and give us the courage to be who God created us to be. We must take our armor and go full force against our enemy. Psalm 16:8 says, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” How can we lose with the Creator of the universe on our side? After all, He is going before us in the battle! Look at David, all he had was a slingshot, a stone, and a whole lot of faith. Faith that God would take that stone and take Goliath down with it. Oh, to have that kind of faith and courage. How about Daniel? Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den, and the lions didn’t even touch him. God protected Daniel from the mouths of the lions. That’s the kind of God we serve!
Let’s be encouraged to move forward and not retreat. We are part of God’s army, and we are in a heated battle against evil. The Bible foretold all that we are experiencing. It says in the end times, the enemy will start to ramp up his schemes, his traps, his attacks, and we, as God’s people, must take up our armor and press forward. Let’s pray those bold prayers! Let’s pray for chains and strongholds to break. Let’s pray for marriages to be restored, sick to be healed, and the broken to be made whole. We serve a God who can do all of this if we believe he can and we have faith in him. I believe bold acts of faith move mountains. I believe God is moved into action by our faith in him. He loves seeing our boldness come into action because that is when things change.
Christian friends, we are in a breakthrough season. Things are starting to shift. The closer we get to breakthroughs, the more relentless the enemy comes at us with his schemes. One of the enemy’s favorite schemes is fear. Fear immobilizes us and distracts us -getting us off course. But don’t lose hope, Almighty God has our back; He has already won the battle.
So don’t become weary. Cry out to God because he will never leave you or forsake you. He will always uphold you with his righteous right hand. He is victorious, and we can be bold as lions when we put our trust and faith in Him.
