We attended church this morning in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee at Grace Chapel with close friends. Let me tell you about it…
We always try to find a church service when we are at a craft show and often they have one at the show itself. This weekend we were in Franklin, Tennessee at their downtown Pumpkinfest. We spent the night with friends and they invited us to their church. I had asked the kids to pack church clothes so we were all prepared. To my surprise, our son Ian had packed one of his Papa Jim’s hand-me down ties. Papa Jim has Parkinson’s disease, ewy bodies’ dementia, as well as has damage from a stroke, so it worked on my heart strings. He looked dapper and proud in his un-ironed clothing (I wasn’t about to critique him). Atlee was beautiful as always, but I think this church visit was all about Ian.
He has received a miracle in his life, but has been recently inquiring about seeing a miracle. We have talks most every night around the dinner table about our faith. This particular Sunday morning I prayed that in this church that we were visiting that Ian could see a miracle. Within seconds of my prayer, the pastor called up a family of three to the front. As the Lord would have it, the little boy had just been given a clean bill of health because a miracle a couple of days ago.
Does God answer prayers? I know so -and always in His perfect timing. I told everyone after church that I had just spoken that prayer that Ian would get to see a miracle. Double confirmation….
Powerful prayer….Bless us Lord so that we can continue to be a blessing. Instead of just being comfortable in His Omni presence, Lord help us to manifest His presence in us. He is with us and I will practice the presence of God.
Thank you Jesus for today for affirming that we are getting it right…
