There are seasons in our lives when the heat feels unbearable.
The diagnosis.
The betrayal.
The grief.
The financial strain.
The silent prayers that seem to echo back unanswered.

FIRE

If you’ve ever walked through one, you know it changes you. You don’t step into the flames the same woman who steps out. But here is the beautiful truth: God never wastes the fire.

The God Who Stands in the Flames

In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into a blazing furnace for refusing to bow. The king expected ashes. Instead, he saw four men walking in the fire — and one looked like the Son of God.

When they came out, Scripture says:

“The fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.” (Daniel 3:27)

Read that again.

They went in bound and then came out free. The only thing the fire burned was the ropes. Sister, sometimes the very thing meant to destroy you is the thing God uses to deliver you.

The Fire Refines, It Does not Define

Fire purifies gold. It removes impurities that could not be removed any other way. And while it is uncomfortable, even painful, the outcome is strength and brilliance.

Isaiah 43:2 promises:

“When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you.”

Notice it says when, not if.

The Christian life is not fireproof, but it is God-secured.

The fire may have touched your life, but it does not get to label you. You are not “divorced,” “broken,” “rejected,” “bankrupt,” or “forgotten.” You are refined. You are chosen. You are held. YOU ARE LOVED!

Coming Out Stronger

There is something holy about the woman who has come out of the fire.
She prays differently.
She trusts differently.
She worships differently.
There’s a depth in her that comfort never produced.

She now knows that God is not just a Sunday-morning Savior — He is a furnace-walking Deliverer. And sometimes, the greatest testimony isn’t that you avoided the fire, it is that you walked through it and still believe. Your faith is still intact.

If You’re Still in the Fire

Maybe you’re reading this and the heat has not lifted yet. Take heart. The presence of pressure does not mean the absence of God. Often, He is closest to the flames. You may not feel Him, but He is there, loosening chains you didn’t even know were holding you.

You will come out. Not bitter, but better. Not destroyed, but developed.

Not smelling like smoke, but carrying glory. When you do, you’ll be able to reach back and tell another sister, “I’ve been there. And HE brought me through.”

Sweet friend, if you’re coming out of a hard season, I pray you see what God has been building in you. And if you’re still walking through it, may you sense that HE IS standing beside you today.
