We have all seen the news, the heartbreaking scenes of lives lost with loved ones left to mourn. Not knowing when this will end and how to go on. It is unfathomable of the hate one must possess to do this. I am sure, like most, since this began, my mind has been a jumbled mess of shock and horror. I have the privilege of turning off the TV when it gets to be too much and can avoid it when the kids are around. Unfortunately, they are unable to do that and go about their lives like it never happened. I implore you to pray for all involved in this.
I, for one, am heartbroken and longing for HOME. My prayer has been Jesus will come quickly. If I have said it once, I have said it one hundred times just randomly, whether it be out loud, mumbling, or saying it in my head. HE hears it all because He knows my heart. We do not know when; only HE will, as HE promised. We await with anticipation as our world is crumbling all around us with birthing pains.
“So, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.” Matthew 24:44
Are you as Homesick as I am? We wait with expectation. HIS time not ours, but until then, we live in this fallen world and continue to do His work.
“And now, dear children, continue in Him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.” 1 John 2:28
- Live in the light of His first coming.
- Be discerning.
- Accept the uncertainties.
- Do not lose hope.
- Encourage one another.
- Live as if today was the day.
- Keep on doing the work Jesus left us to do.
Heavenly Father,
We come to you with breaking hearts of immeasurable depths of devastation. We know YOU are in control and in Your time this will end. Father, we beg of you to please cover the ones who are left behind in this battle. May they be held in your loving care and protection and given the strength to endure unbelievable suffering and hardship. Be with those who need you in these days of we pray for people of all faiths – Jews, Muslims, and Christians and for all people of the land.
Transform the hearts and minds of all those who perpetuate violence and oppression.
Father, we pray for peace, we cry out to you amid the pain and trauma of violence and fear which prevails in the Holy Land.
We are ready to come HOME, your children are Homesick. We anticipate the return of Jesus and are longing to be with You.
God, my Father, I humble myself before in the name of Jesus, I submit all of me to You. Here I am. I resist the enemy by calling on Your name.
I ask all of this in the beautiful name of Jesus.
Amen
Can you even imagine the sight of Jesus coming?
“Look, He is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him;” and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of Him.” So shall it be! Amen.” Revelation 1:7
