During the past weeks, the story of deliverance for God’s people from Egypt has come to my mind so much. The bondage of the enemy had gripped the Israelites for 430 years; that is so devastating! Slavery is beyond what I can comprehend. Yet, when you think about it, we all have been held in its grip in some form or fashion.

Sometimes slavery resides in our minds, while other times it dictates physical strongholds that grip the heart and mind of individuals every day -to the point that they feel no return. I am so thankful that this is not true! There is a way of escape!  Just as God chose to free the Israelites from Egypt with the final plague of the death angel that took the life of every firstborn of Egypt, He provides deliverance for us. He spared his chosen people. God made a way for us to escape eternal death forever!

God loved us so much that he came to earth in the form of flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ, so that we could live. Eternal life is available by believing that Jesus is God, and he is a rewarder of those that seek him. We all are in the bondage of sinful flesh with its curse to die, but if we have the blood of Jesus his sacrifice for our sins, then when he sees the blood, eternal death will pass over us forever!

I realize hearts are so heavy right now. Our world is in a plague of coronavirus. We realize death could knock on our door, or a loved one’s door, at any time.  But be encouraged! We are not without hope! Whatever comes against us, God is still with us. He will not forsake us, and he will be with us always even until the end of the world!

Many times, God sent the Israelites into battle, and lives were lost. But so many times, they were also victorious! Like Job, we must ask ourselves the question “who knows the mind of God, and what his will is?” Who hung the stars or placed the sun and moon into existence, but God, our creator!

What I know in my heart is that God is sovereign. He is not surprised by anything; His purpose for an individual, a city, a nation, and the world will be fulfilled. He will do whatever He desires to bring people to a knowledge of Him. He gives us an opportunity to cry out to Him in repentance. God gives the opportunity for all to give Him glory for the miracles he performs in the midst of calamity!

I appeal to all believers, let’s let the world see the power of Jesus’ name has not diminished!  Let them see that our faith is in Him who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we ask or think! Christians, let’s be hope for the hopeless, we can be a joy to the sorrowful, and peace for those who have none!

In Exodus 11:7, God put a difference between his people and the world. My prayer for those who have never accepted Jesus is that they would seek him while he may be found. The opportunity is now, while the door of grace is open to all. Believe in Jesus Christ, God’s son: the gift to us all.

May God cover you with his feathers and under His wings shall thou trust.
