“The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I (Jesus) came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

One of my favorite songs on the radio right now is “Fear is a Liar” by Zach Williams. If you have not heard it, I encourage you to listen to it. In the song it references many lies that the devil whispers to us. I quote a couple verses here:

When he told you you’re not good enough
When he told you you’re not right
When he told you you’re not strong enough
To put up a good fight
When he told you you’re not worthy
When he told you you’re not loved
When he told you you’re not beautiful
That you’ll never be enough
Fear, he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
‘Cause fear he is a liar

In this song there are so many examples of how the enemy tries to lie to us and paralyze us with fear. I know in my own life he whispers discouragement to try to keep me in a place where I am in effective for the LORD.

You see the opposite of what the devil tells us, is everything the LORD speaks in truth. Jesus says I am worthy, so much so that He gave His perfect life for me and for you. Jesus also tells me “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength” as in Philippians 4:13.

So many times, we allow the lies of the enemy to have power over us; we believe that we are the things he says we are.  Friend, I want you to hear something today! Jesus loved you so much that He laid aside heaven and came to earth to walk through temptations, pain, and suffering, because He believed you were worth it! I believe He would have done it even if you were the only person on earth, because He loves you that much. I don’t know what you are battling and how many lies you have believed, but today I want you to know that you are loved, you are treasured, and you are worthy!

Remember what Jesus has done for you and that He has come to give us an abundant life as in John 14:6 “He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life”!

The only way we can find rest from the lies that the enemy speaks, is to speak the Truths of Christ over our lives. Below I have listed some verses of truth that will help combat the lies of the enemy:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

“So, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.
Psalms 46:1

Today as you read these verses, my prayer is that you will use these to rest in the peace and truth that only Jesus can give!
