Good Things Come to Those Who Wait…
In Psalms 112:5 NLT it says, “Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.”
In the NIV version the scripture says, “Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.”
In the ERV, the Bible says, “It is good for people to be kind and generous and to be fair in business.”
I could go on and on with different translations of the Bible but it is the same message. To me, the scripture says wait on the Lord and His timing. I know it is hard to keep giving and wonder when your ship will come in as they used to say. I want to encourage you that your ship has already come in; we just have to set sail. With all the many blessings that the Lord has already given us, we can rejoice and be glad in it. “Happiness is wanting what you already have.”
While working with teenagers in our community and realizing that some of them don’t have sheets on their beds, they have one bath towel, they have never had a birthday present, they don’t have blankets in winter, they need drapes to keep the cold out…….
I realize that I haven’t needed as much as I have wanted. If you have extra at your house and know of someone that doesn’t have enough, please share. It might just help them feel as though their ship has come in.
