A BRIDE ADORNED FOR HIS GLORY

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garment of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorned herself with her jewels.” ISAIAH 61:10

We recently had a ladies conference at our church and celebrated together what it means to be the bride of Christ. We are all part of the family of God, His chosen ones, His body of believers in this present world.

Christ extended his hands to us by nailing them on the cross in a covenant relationship that is everlasting and sealed by his blood. Unlike a marriage between a man and woman, which sometimes ends up in a broken relationship, our covenant is held secure in the palm of his hand and no one is able to pluck us out.

Christ loves us with an everlasting love it is a “Happily Ever After.” “It is a marriage made in heaven.” It is not a fairy tale! Our knight in shining armor has come and brought divine deliverance and has “clothed us with the garment of salvation, and has covered us with the robe of his righteousness.” What an honor to be Christ’s chosen bride! And we didn’t do anything of ourselves to earn his favor or his love. The only thing that he asks of us is to bring forth fruit from the gifts of his spirit that will glorify him.

As we allow the Holy Spirit to reign in our lives we are being changed from glory to glory. Sanctification is the process of taking off the things of the flesh and putting on the things of the spirit. The Bible says “If any man be in Christ he is a new creature old things are passed away and behold all things become new.” What are you putting on daily? How are you clothing and adorning yourself as the bride of Christ? Are you bearing fruits of Christ in your attitude and actions?

So often we worry about the outward appearance and neglect the most important things. 1Peter 3:34 says, “Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting of hair, and wearing of gold, or of putting on apparel, but let it be the hidden man of the heart. “ Let us unwrap the gifts God has placed within us to help build up his kingdom work. God has one just for you with your position and your purpose. We as the body of Christ need the gift you have to offer because no one can do what you have been called to do. We pray God will expose, nurture, and encourage the gifts that he has instilled within each of us as his body of believers.

What are you doing to make yourself ready as the bride of Christ? Do you have on the “shield of faith?” Are you carrying the “sword of the spirit?” Are your “feet shod with the preparation of the beautiful gospel?” Christ prayed for us that we would be glorified in him, that we would be one as He and the Father are one, and that we would be sanctified through the truth.

Christ’s passion for us never has diminished it was from the beginning and will be throughout all eternity! He is the lover of our soul! This is the greatest love story ever told! How is your passion for him? Is the flame still burning bright? Are you looking forward to seeing him face to face? Are you listening for the trumpet to sound and the voice of the archangel? Are you anticipating hearing him say “Arise my love?” The Bible says “Eyes haven’t seen or ears heard the things that he has went away and prepared for those that love him!”

“And the spirit and the bride say, come. And let him that heareth say, come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely.”

“Even so come Lord Jesus.”
